The secure Virtual Terminal and Batch Upload features enable merchants to process credit card transactions manually.

Merchant Service Center merchants access the Virtual Terminal and Batch Upload features through the their account at www.merchantservicecenter.com. Transactions are immediately submitted for authorization and processing each day.

»Batch Upload - Submitting multiple transactions in a single file is an efficient way to upload credit card transaction data from enterprise applications or other file-based systems. Merchant Service Center's Virtual Gateway enables all types of merchants to accept secure and reliable credit card payments quickly and easily.

Merchant Service Center's Recurring Billing is a convenient and easy-to-use tool for submitting and managing recurring, utility, or subscription-based transactions. Your merchants can take advantage of Merchant Service Center's Recurring Billing flexible features to enhance customer service and build customer loyalty, while reducing authorization declines and overall administrative costs. Merchant Service Center's Recurring Billing provides multiple methods for creating subscriptions. Simply create a subscription in the Merchant Interface that includes the customer's payment information, a billing amount, and payment schedule. Or allow online customers to choose installment payments from your merchant's custom payment form when they integrate their Web site directly to Merchant Service Center's Recurring Billing application programming interface (API).

From that point Merchant Service Center's Recurring Billing application does the rest, generating subsequent transactions based on the schedule provided.

Header ArrowReal-Time Fraud Monitoring Suite (RFMS)

The Real-Time Fraud Monitoring Suite (RFMS) page allows you to view the current configuration of each filter, and the number of transactions that have triggered the filters in the past 30 days.

Configurable Filters
  • Amount Filter - This filter allows you to set lower and upper transaction amount thresholds. Transactions submitted for an amount less than the lower limit or greater than the upper limit will be processed according to the filter action you set .
  • Velocity Filter - This filter allows you to limit the total number of transactions received per hour. Transactions received in excess of your established threshold will be processed according to the filter action you set.
  • Suspicious Transaction Filter - This filter examines transactions based on proprietary transaction behavior analyzed by our Fraud Management team. Transactions that trigger this filter will be processed according to the filter action you set.
  • Transaction IP Velocity Filter - This filter allows you to restrict the number of transactions received from the same Internet Protocol (IP) address per hour. Transactions received from the same IP address in excess of your established threshold will be processed according to the filter action you set.
  • Authorized Gateway IP Addresses - If you submit transactions exclusively via MSCS, you may maintain a list of server IP addresses that are authorized to submit transactions. Any transactions received by your payment gateway account from an IP address NOT on the list are rejected.
  • IP Address Blocking - This tool allows you to block transactions from specific IP addresses. Transactions received by your payment gateway account from an IP address listed are rejected.

Note: You will need to pass the Customer IP Address (x_customer_ip) in order to use the IP Administration tools. For more information, talk your Web developer or the person who performed your integration.

To view and edit settings for each filter, logon to https://www.merchantservicecenter.com and navigate to Settings>Gateway>Fraud Detection Tools. Select the account you wish to administrator then click on the hyperlinked filter name on the left side of the page.

To view the transactions that have triggered a specific filter in the past 30 days, click on the hyperlinked number that appears at the far right of the filter name. (You can also search transactions that have triggered RFMS filters using the Suspicious Transactions Search feature.)

STEP 1: Connect to the Virtual Terminal Interface through any web-based browser using the internet.

STEP 2: Complete the form that provides the system with the transaction information.

STEP 3: The information is then encrypted using the latest 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and is sent to a host server.

STEP 4: The server then sends the data through the authorization network to the appropriate card issuer's bank using a secure, proprietary connection.

STEP 5: When the process is complete, the merchant will receive an authorization number, and the server stores the transaction. Transactions are automatically settled each day and are funded with in 24-48 hours.

Our software solution eliminates the need for expensive terminals, as the included virtual terminal can process transactions right from your computer. The Virtual Terminal supports all the common features of a standard terminal such as Sales, Returns, Voids and Ticket-Only. With the Virtual Terminal you don't need to worry about loosing transactions due to terminal failure, you don't even need to worry about batching out each night. Unlike similar software based terminals, our Virtual Terminal supports the use of magnetic card readers and receipt printers.
